(This work is based on a well-known Japanese nursery tale. A young man had picked up a rice stem and tied a bee to it for fun. Seeing him playing, a passing prince offered him three oranges in exchange for the novel toy. After exchanging the oranges for a series of things, the boy ends up the proud owner of a house and fields. In this work we see the boy about to capture the bee that is the origin of his good fortune.) |
